We are delighted to welcome you to the Detox Movement’s in-person Day Retreat taking place at St Peter’s, De Beauvoir Town, East London on Sunday 3rd July from 12 - 6pm. Join us for a relaxing and nourishing day of yoga, breathwork, meditation, nutrition and amazing food.
This day-long retreat will focus on gut health and your immune system - something we all need to support and improve - and offers you the opportunity to catch up on some restorative me-time, meet and mingle with like-minded people, learn about health and eat some amazing plant-based food.
A delicious menu has been especially designed to support these immune systems and you will learn about powerful naturopathic protocols that can easily be practised at home to support your long-term health.
All the yoga practices will be therapeutic and you will learn simple techniques to support your gut and immune system through movement, breathwork and meditation. These sessions will be led by international yoga teacher, Lisa Dunn.
The morning will start with a cleansing green juice and a demonstration on how to easily make a juice without a juicer. There will be an informative talk about the incredible benefits of juicing and how this can support your health when done regularly at home, followed by an hour of moving and stretching your body with an all-levels yoga sequence designed to help enhance your gut and immune health.
Lunch will be an immune supporting plantbased, gluten and sugar free mediterranean spread. Which you will enjoy with fermented drinks and a gut friendly smoothie.
After lunch you can sit and relax whilst watching food demos with nutrition guru, Asa Simonsson, who will teach you how to make a sauerkraut, especially good to balance your microbiome, using a recipe from her book ‘Fermentation’. You will also learn how to make the delicious gut bread that will be served at lunch. After the talk, there will be time for a Q&A session with Asa who will answer your questions on how to support your microbiome: and the best way to enhance the immune system.
You will then get to experience the power of your own breath and discover, no matter how well you eat or exercise, if you’re not breathing properly, none of it matters. This powerful pranayama session, led by Lisa, will help shift stagnation and give new insights to help prepare you for meditation - a perfect way to digest the learnings and experiences of the day.
To finish our time together we will serve tea with a delicious gut-healthy cake to help fuel you for your journey home.
